Visions of Tomatoes

It has been many years since we have had a bumper crop of tomatoes. Blight seems to be the problem but who can say. So this year, we are building two raised beds in hopes that more sunlight, more air circulation and fresh clean new soil, will help those "tomato babies" we are nurturing reach full adulthood. Can you feel our enthusiasm? Let's hope it isn't a bust! The building of beds has begun! Recommended reading: "The $64 Tomato" by William Alexander))))

  1. Hi Brenda,

i want to have some raised beds too this year, so sent me the drawings please. :-).

We got many green tomatoes last year, but they never went red. :-(.

  2. I'm delighted to see you have a blog (and love that you're using THAT photo as your profile pick!) Welcome to the blogosphere. I'm thinking that a new raised bed is just what I need over on the south side of the garden, where I can raise a few veg without having to fight with the clay. And since LSS brought me home 27 bags of mushroom compost this morning, and promises to bring another 27 next week, that will go a long way into creating awesome soil. Plus the mushrooms are exquisite, too.
